ER 104 Vocabulary + Grammar
This course is designed to teach students to become comfortable
with exam-level vocabulary as well as master any grammar rule
that might appear on exams such as the PSAT or SAT/ACT.
Vocabulary and grammar training involves far more than
memorization -- our hands-on lessons and course materials will
help students master language roots and context to determine the
meaning of difficult vocabulary words, and also help them review
and catch subtle tricks in grammatical writing. Our course also
will prepare your child for much more than the next exam -- they
will become comfortable with analyzing vocabulary and grammar in
pieces of literature and even incorporate these into their own
writing.
Class materials are all provided and free for this course. Our
professors will personally select the most effective and varied
reading comprehension practice, vocabulary training, and grammar
exercises.
Course Structure:
- Employ common standards of grammar and vocabulary in
writing
- Construct clear and correct sentences, clarifying subtle
grammatical errors
- Recognize when to use different sentence structures for
different purposes
- Use language roots and context to determine vocabulary
meaning
- Learn to identify common parts of speech and figurative
language
